Solace Recovery

Solace Recovery is a culturally-informed eating disorder recovery coaching program created to support the unique challenges faced by AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) and APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) communities.

No recovery is one-size-fits all. However, ED-related issues in these communities are often overshadowed by societal stigma and a lack of cultural understanding. These nuances are difficult to address without understanding the norms ingrained in this community of need.

Solace Recovery aims to: build an actionable recovery plan, identify what works best for your recovery, and empower you with clarity and confidence to reclaim what you've lost — all through a culturally sensitive, relevant, and compassionate lens of care.

Culturally informed practices encompass approaches that respect and integrate diverse cultural beliefs, values, and practices into therapeutic interventions. This involves understanding the cultural background of clients, recognizing how it shapes their experiences and perceptions of, and adapting treatment strategies accordingly.

Working with a culturally informed eating disorder coach is crucial in order to receive personalized support that resonates with your cultural identity and values. These professionals understand how cultural factors influence attitudes towards food, body image, and mental health, offering interventions that are not only effective but also respectful and inclusive of your cultural context, thereby enhancing the relevance and success of treatment.
